The Board of Directors is responsible for the prudent management of the corporation. The board supervises building finances and operations, provides shareholders with annual financial statements, and establishes and monitors budgets. It takes on initiatives to improve the quality of the building, including its physical condition but also the garden, painting, lighting, and so forth. The board considers purchase and sublet applications and refinance agreements, interviews prospective shareholders, considers alteration agreements, monitors renovations, and oversees rentals of bike and garage spaces and storage lockers. Directors are elected to one-year terms at the annual meeting of shareholders in May, and the board meets regularly throughout the year. Please remember that board members serve voluntarily and receive no compensation for the many hours they contribute to the Congress Owners community.
